Hi Authors!

BookBub is an online book-discovery service that helps readers find discounted and free ebooks (and more recently audiobooks), handpicked recommendations, and updates from favorite authors.

BookBub got started from a newsletter that promoted free and on-sale eBooks to readers and by charging authors or publishers for listing their promotion. It’s become a powerful force in the world of book marketing, and it would benefit both your book and you to be part of their platform.

Things to Know about BookBub

  • Millions of people all over the world have an account with BookBub.

  • When a reader signs up for the BookBub newsletter, they select their preferred genres. Then BookBub categorizes specific lists of readers based on their genre preferences, and those readers are sent newsletters that focus on eBook sales and promotions of the genres they have selected.

  • BookBub sends several targeted email newsletters each week covering different genres.

  • Because BookBub separates their newsletters and reader lists into genres, an author is able to select specific promotions that focus on their target market.

  • There are BookBub newsletters for the US market and for the international market (Canada, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, etc.).

  • Ads in a BookBub newsletter can get tremendous attention to a book.

  • The category and territory of an ad is determined by BookBub.

  • Prices for ads run from the hundreds to thousands of dollars, depending on the genre category and the territory.

  • Publishers or authors whose submissions are accepted for a BookBub promotion can potentially double or triple (or more) the investment they make by the sales they reap (though results to vary).

Next, let’s get to how to best use this service…
